In A Public Signature, Torrell continues to pair abstraction with language, the result taking on different embodiments as she navigates the fine line between what can and cannot be communicated, the abstract and the representational. Her nuanced, post-modern look at her subjects, equipped with a patient and methodical practice, makes for a set of emotionally and physically confident works. “I am working toward a new abstraction in my new work – an abstraction that examines contemporary visuality and our complex relationships with objects, others and ourselves.” The Invisible Line exhibition marks Torrell's first solo exhibition in the UK. Gallery hours are Wed - Sat from 1-7pm and Sun by appt. The exhibition will be run until October 25th, 2014.
